Job Description
Tyto Athene is searching for a Storage System Engineer to join our team onsite in Sterling, VA. The candidate will be assigned to a National Systems ISP/ASP program within our government services product line to help create, deploy, and support an element of the customer's Future Ground Architecture and Infrastructure Service Provider platform. The role involves ensuring continuity of operations across six data center sites and one test site using High Availability technologies. The candidate will support server processing and virtualization needs for multiple Active Directory domains, lead large-scale migrations from legacy to standardized environments, and support Operations and Maintenance, Post Deployment, and Integration of new technology.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
- Creating technical work products

Qualifications
Required:
- 5-7 years of experience with SAN and NAS storage systems
- Experience in ISP/ASP compute, network, and storage environments
- Systems engineering experience on a large government cloud deployment contract
- Demonstrated judgment in managing competing priorities to meet program objectives
- Experience in identifying risks and establishing effective mitigation and contingency plans
- Experience with Hitachi, Dell EMC, SGI, and NetApp storage environments
- Experience with fiber channel storage switching fabric and Ethernet storage network systems
- Experience with VMware and Windows support
- Experience with large-scale VMware storage configurations, including design, deployment, and maintenance
- Experience with Veritas NetBackup 8.0
- Knowledge of backup systems and server technologies related to archive and storage
- Ability to interface with program and company leadership, customers, and end users
- Willingness to work overtime to meet key deadlines and lead team efforts
- Experience in Computer Network and Systems Administration domains
- Ability to collaborate with partners to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions
- Proficiency in integrating and solving complex infrastructure problems
- Experience ensuring high reliability and performance through systems monitoring and infrastructure management
- Ability to respond to and use an online ticketing system for user service requests
- Experience ensuring server and application compliance with security and performance requirements (NISPOM, RMF/DISA)
- Ability to convert and upgrade older infrastructure to new technologies
- Proficiency in developing, revising, and maintaining technical and operational documentation
- Opportunity to grow technical competence in areas such as SAN, NAS, Backups, Windows, Linux, virtualization, User Authentication, DNS, NFS, and system imaging/build automation
- Experience mentoring and sharing knowledge to improve team performance

- Active and in-scope TS/SCI with CI polygraph
- Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information
Certification:
- Must have a current CompTIA Security+ CE or IAT Level II certification
