About the Role:
Are you ready to contribute to mission critical national security work in a dynamic, highly complex System of Systems (SoS) environment? As a Systems Security Engineer at Fusion 2, Inc., you will lead performance assessments, interoperability analysis, and system evaluations across multi level security domains. You will collaborate closely with government stakeholders, engineers, program managers, and cross functional teams to guide technical decisions and deliver impactful solutions.

What You’ll Do:
• Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, and evaluate military weapon systems. Prepare and review engineering analyses, technical reports, change proposals, and related documentation.
• Utilize systems engineering expertise to support system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, and acquisition and resource management activities.
• Analyze, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate software, components, and systems associated with military weapons systems, supporting infrastructure, and management information systems.

Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in the identification of weapon system Critical Program Information (CPI) and assess the consequences of potential compromise.
• Conduct critical analysis and modeling of proposed system architectures.
• Document protection-focused system architectures and design considerations.
• Develop and advocate for contractual requirements that support developmental program objectives.
• Facilitate the evaluation of weapons system architectures to ensure compliance with established protection standards.
• Coordinate with program offices, Service components, Joint organizations, and Department of Defense agencies to ensure horizontal protection requirements are achieved.
• Assist the Navy Verification & Validation (V&V) team in assessing system designs, technical solutions, and compliance with requirements.
• Support program risk management activities, including identification, mitigation planning, and reporting.
• Communicate effectively across technical teams to share information, resolve issues, and accelerate development progress.
• Perform all functional duties independently.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:
• Education: BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Software, Network, Cyber Security, Systems Engineering, or related derivative degrees. Masters degree may be considered in lieu of 2 years of experience
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of recent, relevant systems engineering experience, including direct involvement in Systems Security Engineering (SSE) and related responsibilities.
• Technical Experience :
◦ Demonstrated experience in developing Program Protection Plans and producing associated technical and security artifacts.
◦ Proven ability to develop, interpret, and assess aircraft network architectures.
◦ Strong programmatic and technical background in identifying, formulating, designing, and testing engineering solutions, as well as guiding the development of modern, complex systems.
◦ Hands-on experience applying systems engineering methods, tools, and processes in the development of defense-related systems.
◦ Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in systems engineering, SSE, and cybersecurity as they relate to defense platforms and mission systems.
◦ Solid understanding of systems engineering processes, best practices, and their application across the system lifecycle.
◦ Familiarity with and experience in the DoD systems acquisition lifecycle, including relevant policies, phases, and documentation requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Recent and direct experience in AT systems engineering is highly desired
• Recent and direct experience with DoD acquisitions is highly desired
• Master's degree in related scientific or technical discipline
