Position Summary
Designs and implements core workflows within the government program case management system using Appian. Responsible for solution design and platform roadmap for correspondence, user access, and document management workflows, and for integrating Appian with Kafka and third-party APIs across the internal case-processing architecture.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Lead technical planning and requirements gathering: estimate, develop, test, architect, and deliver Appian BPM solutions.
• Evaluate user requests for business process automation using Appian BPM models to determine feasibility and technical requirements.
• Implement key workflows for correspondence, user access, and document management.
• Integrate Appian with Kafka and third-party APIs, and with the AWS-hosted Oracle EE transactional database.
• Own Appian solution design and contribute to the platform roadmap.
• Participate in or lead design meetings, daily scrums, and program office meetings.
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years using Agile methodologies on major IT systems.
• Appian development experience, particularly building workflow solutions for federal systems.
• Experience integrating Appian with external systems such as Kafka and third-party APIs.
• Knowledge of Appian-based solutions for case management, document generation, and access management.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Drupal, Cosmos DB, Apache Kafka, JavaScript, complex SQL queries, and Oracle.
• Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint.
• REST API integration experience.
• AWS experience.
Preferred (Optional) Skills and Experience:
• Experience supporting foreign labor case management systems with public-facing web interfaces.
• Prior experience on comparable federal case management programs.
• Experience contributing to an Appian platform roadmap.
