Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support electronic warfare (EW) and radar systems engineering efforts, with anticipated tasking centered on the MK99 system and Radar Restoration. The selected candidate will develop working knowledge of these systems over time, ultimately serving as a subject matter expert (SME) and fleet interface point of contact. This position will also support overhaul efforts currently being performed on the radar systems.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support electronic warfare (EW) and radar systems engineering efforts, with anticipated tasking centered on the MK99 system and Radar Restoration. The selected candidate will develop working knowledge of these systems over time, ultimately serving as a subject matter expert (SME) and fleet interface point of contact. This position will also support overhaul efforts currently being performed on the radar systems.
Essential Functions:
- Support engineering efforts on the MK99 system and Radar Restoration program, building toward subject matter expertise on those systems
- Serve as a fleet interface point of contact for assigned systems as proficiency develops
- Support resolution of overhaul issues identified during work performed by a local contractor (Loughmiller) on Radar Restoration systems
- Research, develop, design, and test tools, machines, and mechanical devices in support of program needs
- Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) tools to support modeling, simulation, and modification of designs
- Apply logical, methodical problem-solving to mechanical and systems-level issues
- Work closely with customers, engineers, and technicians to capture and translate requirements into sound engineering solutions
- Support design review preparation by ensuring drawings and models are accurate, complete, and ready for engineering review
Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2-5 years of professional experience
- Sound foundational engineering judgment and logical problem-solving ability; candidate should be able to operate with some independence rather than requiring extensive hand-holding on fundamentals
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with clients, team members, and management staff, including DoD civilian, uniformed military, and contractor personnel
