Overview:
Responsible for administering, maintaining, and optimizing SAP database platforms, primarily SAP HANA, to ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability for business-critical SAP applications. Supports database operations across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments while collaborating closely with SAP Basis, infrastructure, and application teams.
Description:
- Administer SAP HANA databases and, where required, Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2 environments supporting SAP workloads.
- Perform database installation, patching, upgrades, backup/restore, recovery testing, and lifecycle management activities.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, capacity, memory utilization, and system health.
- Support SAP S/4HANA migrations, cloud transformations, and hybrid deployment models.
- Implement and maintain performance baselines, operational KPIs, and database governance standards.
- Collaborate with Basis, infrastructure, and cloud teams on HA/DR solutions, storage, networking, and incident resolution.
- Support cloud-hosted database environments on AWS, Azure, or GCP with a focus on security, resilience, and cost optimization.
- Develop and maintain automation for health checks, patch management, monitoring, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure database security, compliance, audit readiness, and adherence to enterprise standards.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide timely resolution for business-critical systems.
Requirement:
- United States Citizen with Active Secret Clearance
- Experience administering SAP HANA databases in enterprise SAP landscapes.
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery.
- Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA environments and migration projects.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases is an advantage.
