Job Description

Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer 0 to support the Fort Meade Customer by serving as a liaison between end users, development teams, and operations personnel. This role focuses on gathering user feedback, documenting operational processes, supporting system documentation efforts, and helping translate mission needs into actionable technical requirements. The position works closely with users, developers, DevOps engineers, and leadership to support system improvements, Agile development activities, and operational readiness efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with users to gather feedback and translate operational needs into actionable work items
  • Document user operations and workflows to support test plan development and system validation activities
  • Assist with documenting system architectures, data flows, and operational workflows for complex technical solutions
  • Perform outreach regarding service desk issues to ensure requirements are clearly understood and documented
  • Coordinate with users to validate bug fixes, enhancements, and new capabilities meet mission needs
  • Support DevOps teams with maintaining system health and status dashboards and monitoring tools
  • Assist with monitoring system health and operational performance during business hours
  • Maintain architecture, workflow, and operational documentation to reflect ongoing development efforts
  • Assist with identifying project risks and documenting mitigation strategies
  • Support weekly status reporting and leadership updates
  • Assist with Agile activities, including sprint planning, backlog maintenance, retrospectives, and ticket tracking
  • Develop and maintain release notes and program documentation

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
  • 0-3 years of experience supporting systems engineering, technical project coordination, software development, or related technical activities
  • Experience working directly with users or stakeholders to gather requirements and support operational needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to document technical processes, workflows, and requirements clearly and accurately
  • Familiarity with Agile development concepts and software development lifecycles
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration and ticketing tools
  • Exposure to DevOps, system monitoring, or cloud-based environments
  • Experience supporting service desk operations or customer support activities
  • Understanding of systems integration, release management, or testing processes
  • Experience supporting Intelligence Community mission systems or technical programs preferred


Salary Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
