PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer, in Clearwater, FL. Job ID#218608
Job Description:
* Apply quality principles to production control, design evaluations, and engineering workflows to ensure specifications and product requirements are consistently met.
* Collaborate with Quality Program Managers (QPMs), production teams, and other stakeholders to improve quality workflows within the Oldsmar site and partner locations.
* Lead root-cause investigations into product failures, analyze defect trends, and implement corrective/preventative measures directly tied to systemic improvements.
Systems Design & Testing
* Develop and refine inspection processes and contribute to building advanced testing mechanisms and systems to streamline quality procedures.
Commodities and Site Collaboration
* Support quality for commodities like CCAs, cables, and box assemblies manufactured at the Oldsmar location for internal customers across other sites.
* Drive process alignment across partner programs and hardware teams within nearby locations.
Quality System Design and Analytics
* Leverage Tableau dashboards and predictive analytics to monitor production metrics and identify trends for actionable next steps.
* Initiate automation and AI solutions to reduce errors, improve inspection rates, and drive predictive quality outcomes.
Basic Qualifications
* Strong communication skills - adept at collaborating across sites and program teams.
* Familiarity with AS9100 standards or equivalent aerospace quality models.
* Comfortable with hardware engineering requirements, integration, and system testing processes.
* Understanding of basic manufacturing requirements and quality engineering systems.
Desired Skills
* Tableau and other data visualization platforms for quality tracking.
* Certifications like Lean Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving methods.
* Experience with commodities such as CCAs, cabling assemblies, and box-level components.
* Familiarity with IPC and J-STD standards essential for component and system analysis.
