Job Description

Duties

  • You will perform quality assurance (EA) on environmental programs via the Commanding General's Inspection Program (CGIP) by assessing environmental practices identified in the installation's environmental practice inventory.
  • You will be responsible for providing administrative and technical assistance on environmental compliance and regulatory matters.
  • You will be responsible for providing intermediate level advice, guidance, assistance and training on the implementation of the Multi-media Inspection Program and Commanding General's Inspection Program (CGIP).
  • You will brief managers, leadership, and senior officials at all levels on case status, findings determined from a complaint or allegation, recommendations, and follow-on actions.
  • You will be required to prepare reports, presentations and briefings on environmental compliance matters.
  • You will be required to participate in developing Installation's environmental policy.
  • You will serve as the co-escort to regulatory agencies during inspections aboard the installation.
  • You will assist others with program inspections to determine compliance with laws and regulations, promote efficiency and economy, and detect deficiencies.
  • You will conduct in-depth analyses of audit and inspection reports to determine system, activity, or management weakness and recommend policy changes.
  • You will perform multi media compliance inspections under the Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA), Clean Air Act (CM), and Clean Water Act (CMA).
  • You will liaise between the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and various federal, state, and local agencies to verify the organization remains in compliance with applicable laws.
  • You will liaise with organizations or individuals to coordinate efforts on developing of metrics for the investigative program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting multi-media environmental compliance inspections and quality assurance activities to ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. Managing and evaluating compliance programs across multiple disciplines, including Hazardous Materials Management, Hazardous Waste Management, and Air and Water Quality Management. Providing technical assistance and executing training initiatives to reinforce environmental standards and operational best practices.

Education

Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
Possession of an LL.M., if related
