Job Description



Sayres is seeking an experienced RATT Lead – Gas Turbine Team in San Diego, CA with a SECRET clearance, verifiable in DISS.


Position Summary

The Gas Turbine RATT Lead provides technical leadership for assessments of gas turbine propulsion plants, associated auxiliaries, and engineering operations aboard Navy surface ships. The position supports readiness evaluations, maintenance assessments, and engineering recommendations.


Responsibilities


  • Lead propulsion readiness assessments for gas turbine-powered ships.

  • Evaluate engineering department maintenance programs and propulsion plant performance.

  • Analyze casualty reports, maintenance records, and inspection findings.

  • Advise ship leadership on engineering readiness and material condition.

  • Conduct ship visits and engineering assessments.

  • Develop readiness reports and technical recommendations.

  • Mentor team members and coordinate assessment activities.



Qualifications


  • Minimum 15 years of supervisory experience supporting Navy engineering operations.

  • Extensive EOOW experience aboard gas turbine-powered Navy ships.

  • Extensive Navy propulsion engineering experience across multiple platforms.

  • Maintenance or training staff experience (TYCOM, ISIC, ATG, or equivalent).

  • Thorough understanding of Navy depot-level maintenance processes.

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • 25+ years of experience highly desired.




Occasional travel may be required. Support is primarily based in San Diego, CA, with occasional travel to Navy fleet concentration areas including Everett, WA; Pearl Harbor, HI; Sasebo, Japan; Yokosuka, Japan; and Singapore, as well as other customer locations as required.

Salary Range: $90,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience. Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
