Position Overview Editorial consistency across the joint doctrine library requires senior judgment. The Senior Editor brings expertise in the joint and Service doctrine development and publishing processes to the most demanding publications. The role raises editorial quality for the Joint Doctrine Development Community and mentors editorial staff. Essential Job Function

- Edit and format complex coordination and signature drafts of joint publications.
- Apply expertise in joint and Service doctrine development and publishing processes.
- Review adjudicated Comment Resolution Matrices for technical and grammatical accuracy.
- Apply document-formatting features of software tools to maintain consistency across publications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management Science, or a related field; or no degree and 5 years of demonstrated success in the areas below.
- Experience: Demonstrated success in three (3) or more of the following: two years equivalent to the Editor category; expertise in joint or Service doctrine development and publishing processes; document formatting features of software tools; editing documents to set standards for order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology; and editing software such as Microsoft Word, Adobe, CorelDraw, and Photoshop.
- Security Clearance: Secret (per Staffing Plan).
- Prior senior editorial role supporting DoD or Joint Staff publications.
- Experience mentoring or directing junior editorial staff.
