Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer, T1, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Manufacturing Engineering team, where they will work on Infrared Countermeasures (IRCM) suite of products as a Test Engineer.
Manufacturing Engineers thrive in an environment of daily unique challenges and proximity to products. Partnering with production, successful test engineers lead troubleshooting and ensure excellence in hardware and software. Engineers who do well in this setting enjoy seeing their work perform in a test or a product, collaborate and communicate well across functions, and are innovative problem solvers. Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting of lasers, turrets/transmitters, ultraviolet sensors, infrared sensors, system processors, and associated test equipment and systems.
• Execute hardware integration and test activities
• Support the production floor and test technicians with timely technical guidance
• Identify and implement improvements and corrective actions across products and processes
• Analyze test failures and failure data to identify trends
• Support root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
• Analyze metrics (e.g., yields, touch time/test time) to identify continuous improvement opportunities; optimize processes to reduce cost and increase throughput
• Support Non-Recurring (NRE) projects, including test station design, drawings and validations, and development testing
• Contribute to research, design, development, and test activities for a variety of electronic equipment and systems
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, including change notices, parts lists, bills of materials, test reports, and test procedures
• Work with suppliers to resolve technical hardware issues
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology
• Experience working with test equipment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with troubleshooting, data analysis, and root cause/corrective action
• Experience working with, designing, and/or troubleshooting test stations/equipment
• Experience with Python, C#, and/or scripting/automation
• Experience with lasers and optics
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
Primary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
