Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to lead and support the planning, execution, direction, analysis, and reporting of experimental, developmental, and operational testing for advanced Navy capabilities. This role builds upon core test engineering functions by providing senior-level leadership across complex test events, cross-functional technical teams, and operational stakeholders. The candidate will support testing across operational, HWIL, virtual, and other relevant environments while helping evaluate system performance, identify risks, document findings, and inform capability development. The role requires the ability to bridge operational, technical, and executive audiences while supporting efforts involving mission engineering, fires, modeling and simulation, data analytics, communications systems, tactical networks, datalinks, and Aegis Weapon System-related capabilities, as applicable.
Work is performed ON-SITE in San Diego, CA. Required to be local to area. Travel required up to 10% (CONUS/OCONUS).

JOB DUTIES:
- Extensive experience planning, test directing, executing, documenting, and reporting on operational testing.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capability within cross-functional technical and operational team-of-teams environments.
- Ability to coordinate engineers, developers, operators, analysts, and program stakeholders in support of complex test events.
- Experience developing or reviewing test documentation, test reports, briefings, after-action materials, and other deliverables used to capture results, observations, issues, risks, and recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information for operational, program, and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks, communicate status, manage stakeholders, support issue resolution, and provide senior-level test support in a dynamic program environment.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Years of experience in lieu of degree to be reviewed.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start

- Experience supporting mission engineering and/or fires-related efforts.
- Experience with modeling and simulation and data analytics to inform system design, operational concepts, test planning, or performance assessments.
- Experience with communications systems and routing, especially broadcast capabilities.
- Experience with tactical networks, datalinks, and/or Aegis Weapon System-related capabilities.
- Experience supporting Navy, DoD, shipboard, operational, or enterprise test environments.
- Experience supporting cloud platforms, containerization technologies, DevOps practices, and/or CI/CD pipelines.
