Job Description

Duties

  • You will interpret requirements from drawings and specifications and determine acceptability of products being evaluated.
  • You will safely and proficiently use a variety of hand tool, power tools and other industrial equipment.
  • You will complete customer data packages, which will include HD videos, high speed video, and still photography.
  • You will plan for, set up, collect, and process imagery data for energetics testing.
  • You will ensure all equipment and facilities are test ready by performing maintenance, procuring equipment, installing video, triggering, and range safety camera systems at all Ordnance Test and Evaluation test sites.
  • You will provide photographic instrumentation support for all Ordnance Test and Evaluation tests, operations, and facilities.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You must obtain and maintain an Ordnance Handler certificate / Ordnance Certifications.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-02 (GS 5-8 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following:
  • Capturing technical, industrial, or scientific imagery using professional still photography, HD video, and/or high-speed videography equipment.
  • Setting up remote camera triggering, camera control systems, and equipment protection in testing environments.
  • Using post-production software to process, analyze, and edit photographic data to produce finished technical data packages (e.g., composite videos, annotated stills).
  • Performing routine equipment maintenance and assisting with the installation of video, surveillance, or basic network communication systems to support field testing operations.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided the education demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position :

GS-7 - Successfully completed two full years of graduate level education or master's degree that is directly related to the position being filled

GS-9 - Successfully completed one full years of graduate level education or master's degree that is directly related to the position being filled

One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.
