Barbaricum is seeking an experienced Outreach & Engagement Task Lead to lead day-to-day outreach, engagement, communications, stakeholder coordination, content, digital, and community initiatives under the Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) Outreach and Digital Enterprise Services (MODES) contract. You will ensure integrated delivery, continuity of operations, and alignment with MC&FP objectives, enhancing the DoD’s ability to inform and support the global military community

Barbaricum is seeking an experienced Outreach & Engagement Task Lead to lead day-to-day outreach, engagement, communications, stakeholder coordination, content, digital, and community initiatives under the Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) Outreach and Digital Enterprise Services (MODES) contract. You will ensure integrated delivery, continuity of operations, and alignment with MC&FP objectives, enhancing the DoD’s ability to inform and support the global military community
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day execution across outreach, engagement, communications, stakeholder engagement, content, digital, and community initiatives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive outreach strategies aligned with MC&FP goals, mission priorities, audience needs, and engagement objectives.
- Coordinate tasking, schedules, dependencies, deliverables, risks, and issue escalation to ensure continuity and integrated delivery.
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, partner organizations, stakeholders, and relevant entities to support collaboration and partnership.
- Oversee creation, review, and distribution of outreach materials, including digital content, presentations, and other mission communication products.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events, workshops, briefings, presentations, and community engagement activities that promote MC&FP programs and objectives.
- Manage outreach team performance, including staff coordination, training, workload alignment, and evaluation against program standards and goals.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on outreach effectiveness using data, engagement metrics, stakeholder feedback, and performance indicators to improve future efforts.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, community outreach, digital engagement, and integrated campaign execution.
- Ability to develop outreach strategies that connect mission objectives, audience needs, communication channels, and measurable engagement outcomes.
- Ability to manage multiple outreach initiatives, schedules, dependencies, risks, and deliverables in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
- Strong relationship-building skills with community leaders, partner organizations, government stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing leadership, developing outreach messaging, and translating program objectives into audience-centered materials.
- Experience using social media, digital platforms, events, presentations, and community engagement methods to increase participation, awareness, and stakeholder connection.
- Ability to lead, train, motivate, and evaluate outreach personnel while fostering accountability, collaboration, and high-quality execution.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to assess performance, interpret engagement data, and recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Community Engagement, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in outreach, engagement, strategic communications, public relations, marketing, community relations, stakeholder coordination, or related roles.
- 5+ years of experience leading outreach teams, engagement programs, communications campaigns, or multidisciplinary delivery teams.
- Demonstrated track record of successful outreach campaigns using digital platforms, social media, events, stakeholder partnerships, and community engagement channels.
- Experience managing regional, national, federal, defense, military community, public-sector, or large-scale stakeholder engagement responsibilities is preferred.
- Experience developing outreach plans, engagement materials, briefing products, campaign schedules, performance reports, and executive-level updates.
- DoD Secret Security Clearance.
