Job Description
The Safety Inspector is responsible for the development and implementation of site-specific health and safety programs. The role includes working knowledge of OSHA reporting, HAZWOPER 40, EM-385-1-1 compliance, and the ability to provide a method statement for establishing and managing a Safety Department in support of major industrial or construction projects. Ensures ongoing compliance and reporting for all regulatory and company requirements.
Health & Safety Program Management:
• Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs in line with OSHA, HAZWOPER, and EM-385-1-1 standards.
• Prepare detailed method statements and maintain all health and safety documentation. Inspection & Compliance:
• Conduct routine health and safety inspections and audits.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions. Training & Reporting:
• Train staff on safety procedures and compliance.
• Maintain compliance records and submit reports as required. Working Conditions:
• Duties include office work and field safety inspections; emergencies may require out-of-hours response. Physical Requirements:
• Ability to walk, stand, and inspect various facility and construction environments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Secret Clearance required.
• Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or current certification in OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER 40, EM-385-1-1.
• Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) Level 1.
• Minimum fifteen (15) years' experience in safety roles on major industrial or construction projects.
• Minimum five (5) years as a Safety Inspector.
