Job Description
JTEC Consulting is hiring a senior level Network Engineer to work in support of the SOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services 2 (SCITES 2) contract. The Senior Network Engineer role is focused on planning and implementing enterprise service connections between networks, systems, and applications across domains. This role will help drive modernization efforts for secure cloud computing architecture. Qualified candidates will have hands-on expertise in a Cisco-centric Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) environment supporting Cisco routing, switching, and security infrastructure. Experience engineering or maintaining Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) and guard technologies is highly desirable. Prior experience supporting a DoD Combatant Command is required; SOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES) experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities include (but may not be limited to):
  • Work as part of a collaborative team for planning, designing, and maintaining enterprise-level network assets
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, as assigned
  • Support cybersecurity initiatives including collaboration with ISSO and security team members for Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Author and maintain documentation, as requested
  • Ensure secure and compliant operations for NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS networks
  • Interact with team members at all levels including functional, technical professionals, users, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrate professionalism interacting with stakeholders for discussions regarding connectivity requirements and configurations for secure and efficient data transmission
  • Ensure proper configuration and compliance for network switches and routers
  • Maintain DISA STIG requirements
  • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and troubleshooting support
  • Support Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and authentication
  • Support configuration, maintenance, and monitoring for firewalls and intrusion protection/detection systems
  • Implement security measures, as required, for systems and network specifications
  • Provide cross-domain support to team for planning and implementation of all service connections between networks, systems and applications
  • Support cross-domain solutions and guards to ensure secure, audit-ready data transmissions between SCCA enclaves and classified domains
  • Provide on-site support for full schedule hours

Requirements include:
  • U.S. citizenship; no dual citizenship
  • Active, adjudicated TS/SCI security clearance
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills to support a blended government contractor environment
  • Availability to work on-site in Doral
  • 9+ years of related IT experience supporting Network Engineering environments including:
    • 5+ years of overall experience must be in a professional Network Engineer role
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; equivalent years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Must hold an active DoD 8140 / DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent) with active continuing education (CE) status
  • Demonstrated understanding of network security principles and network/routing protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience working with Cisco networking IOS, NX-OS and security appliances (ASA/Secure Firewalls, ISE)
  • Experience configuring and managing network devices, routers, switches, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
  • Hands-on experience with network management tools
  • Demonstrated understanding of virtualization and cloud networking concepts
  • Experience with securing classified networks (SIPR, NIPR, JWICS)
  • Experience implementing DISA STIGs
  • Experience with NIST Cybersecurity Framework/Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Demonstrated understanding of network access control and authentication mechanisms
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and mitigate network security risks
  • Experience working within a DoD Combatant Command (SOUTHCOM, NORTHCOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, INDOPACOM, EUCOM, AFRICOM, STRATCOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, SPACECOM) or a Service Component
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and functional personnel across all level
  • Availability to support on-site schedule

Preferred experience:
  • Prior experience supporting SOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES) is preferred
  • Prior experience with cross-domain solutions and guards is a plus
  • ITIL Foundation, PMP, or Agile certifications is a plus
  • Master's degree in a related discipline is a plus
