Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to support the execution of a highly visible, large-scale federal design-build program located in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will play a critical leadership role in the delivery of a $2 billion, 60+ acre campus development, overseeing all phases of construction execution from planning through commissioning.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing large, complex Design-Build (DBIA) projects within the federal market and demonstrate a proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders through successful project delivery. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to operate effectively in a secure government environment.

Responsibilities
- Provide overall construction leadership for a major federal design-build campus development program.
- Oversee construction activities across a multi-building, 60+ acre campus environment.
- Serve as the primary construction management lead, ensuring project objectives for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety are achieved.
- Coordinate closely with government stakeholders, design teams, contractors, and project leadership.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual requirements, federal standards, and project specifications.
- Lead construction planning, sequencing, phasing, risk management, and issue resolution activities.
- Review and evaluate project schedules, cost controls, change management processes, and construction progress.
- Facilitate executive-level reporting and briefings regarding project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure implementation of quality control, quality assurance, and safety programs across the project.
- Support project commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance required
- DBIA Certification (Design-Build Institute of America) required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Minimum 15+ years of progressive construction management experience
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex design-build construction projects valued at $500M+; experience on programs approaching or exceeding $1B strongly preferred
- Extensive experience serving as a Construction Manager (CM), Project Manager (PM), or similar leadership role on federal construction programs
- Strong understanding of federal construction regulations, contracting methodologies, quality assurance, safety requirements, and project controls
- Experience coordinating with government clients, designers, contractors, and subcontractors throughout project lifecycle
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- Experience delivering Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community construction programs
- Previous experience working on secure facilities, mission-critical infrastructure, campuses, or large federal installations
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, PE, or equivalent
- Experience managing projects utilizing Design-Build best practices and integrated project delivery methodologies
