About the Program:
The Ground Management and Integration (GMI) program is a part of the PWSA program and is a continuation of the Ground Segment work that we are performing on the Tranche 1 (T1) Operations and Integration (O&I) program.
Work on the PWSA program occurs at three levels: Enterprise, GS, and GMI. The Enterprise level, comprises Ground Segment (GS), Space Segment (SS), and User Segment (which includes mission systems) work and is tranche agnostic. The Ground Segment level, comprises our ground development and integration responsibilities such as SUPERNOVAs, NOVAs, ground entry points (GEP), and associated ground networks. It started at T1 with the O&I program, carries on in T2 with the GMI program, and will continue in T3 and beyond. The GMI level, is work on T2 SUPERNOVAs and T2 GEPS.
About the Role:
We are seeking an AWS Cloud Administrator with Linux experience at our Scottsdale, AZ facility.
This role focuses on deploying and managing AWS cloud infrastructure within a secure network enclave, with an emphasis on VPC architecture, environment configuration capture, and restoration capabilities. The candidate will also support Linux-based systems running ServiceNow MID servers and related components.
Education Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Key Responsibilities:
AWS Infrastructure (Primary Focus)
• Build and maintain AWS environments including account structure, VPCs, subnets, route tables, gateways, and security groups
• Design and implement VPC architectures including peering, NAT gateways, and network access controls
• Capture and document AWS environment configurations using Terraform or CloudFormation to ensure environments are reproducible and recoverable
• Restore AWS environments from IaC templates and backups following outages or configuration drift
• Manage EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch resources within secure cloud environments
• Implement AWS Backup and snapshot policies for EC2, RDS, and EBS recovery
• Monitor infrastructure health and compliance using CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config
🐧 Linux Administration (Supporting Role)
• Install, configure, and maintain ServiceNow MID servers on RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu
• Apply system patches and hardening aligned with STIGs and CIS Benchmarks
• Automate routine tasks using Bash, Python, or Ansible
🔐 Security & Documentation
• Design and maintain cloud environments aligned with FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 controls
• Maintain architecture diagrams, VPC topology maps, runbooks, and IaC documentation
• Coordinate with network and security teams on firewall rules and enclave connectivity
Required Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of hands-on AWS experience (EC2, VPC, RDS, IAM, S3, CloudWatch)
• Demonstrated experience designing VPCs and managing AWS networking components
• Proficiency with Terraform and/or CloudFormation for environment capture and deployment
• Experience rebuilding or restoring AWS environments from IaC and backup states
• 2+ years Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu)
• Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
• Working knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, or NIST cloud security standards
• Active security clearance or ability to re-qualify immediately
Preferred Qualifications
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or SysOps Administrator certification
• RHCSA or equivalent Linux certification
• Familiarity with ServiceNow platform or MID server operations
