Looking for an AFFOR Operational Planning Group Analyst opportunity at a place you can make a difference every day? Discover this great opportunity in our Shaw AFB, SC location. You will be part of 9 th Air Force (9AF) United States Air Force Central Command (AFCENT) which is the Air Force Service Component of United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), a joint Department of Defense combatant command responsible for U.S. security interests in 27 nations that stretch from the Horn of Africa through the Persian Gulf region, into Central Asia. This position supports 9th AF Operations Directorate (A35)

In this role, you will:
  • Provide Agile Combat Employment (ACE) and operational planning expertise to assist in current and future deliberate and crisis action operational planning.
  • Provide analysis and technical input recommendations to 9AF AFCENT CONOP and CONEMP, guidance and other plans, utilizing CENTCOM and HAF guidance. In addition, they will keep the existing plans and orders up to date and executable and coordinate with external agencies as required, to include Army Central Command (ARCENT), CENTCOM, CAOC, Air Combat Command (ACC), and others.
  • Assist with updating/developing ACE guidance for 9AF AFCENT and inform CENTCOM of 9AF AFCENT initiatives, including updating senior leaders.
  • Update/brief leadership on current and future requirements, limiting factors, risks, and activities.
  • Facilitate Component ACE Working Groups and coordinate across 9AF AFCENT functional areas and Air Expeditionary Wings on the ACE Concept of Operations (CONOP) and Employment (CONEMP), including annexes and appendices.
  • Coordinate with HAF and other MAJCOM ACE offices on briefings, working groups, regularly scheduled meetings, and on development of common products and processes.
  • Administer applicable data repositories (i.e., websites) associated with ACE on NIPR, SIPR, and other networks.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to operations planners on ACE related operations, activities, and investments (OAIs). Solicit feedback from cross-functional representatives to facilitate inclusion of lessons learned into future editions of applicable guidance.
  • Support 9AF AFCENT/A3 personnel in response to routine suspense's and staff inquiries as they apply to 9AF AFCENT/USCENTCOM ACE, and general/broader office management and processes (such as Division-level tasker management) when required. In addition, the contractor shall assist in the development, for government production and distribution, of written documentation (e.g., 9AF AFCENT policy letters, letters of instruction, business rules, etc.), which enhance the understanding of 9AF AFCENT/USCENTCOM ACE planning and execution.
  • Comply with all staff policies IAW the current versions of AFI 13-103, Air Force Forces (AFFOR) Staff Operations, Readiness and Structures and HQ 9 AF (9AF AFCENT) and HQ 9 AF (9AF AFCENT)/A3 policies and guidance.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • An active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in any subject or 5 years' experience on a NAF or higher-level staff.
  • 3 years' experience working air operations plans/programs in a Component-Numbered AF or HHQ staff position or other service equivalent.
  • 3 years' experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications, e-mail systems, and Task Management Tool or the equivalent
  • 3 years' experience with USCENTCOM operational environment, including deliberate and crisis action planning.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the use of C2IE, C2IMERA, or equivalent database tools.
  • The ability to travel up to 10% (CONUS and OCONUS).
  • Must be capable of worldwide travel including passport and visa requirements.
