Job Description

Position Title: Aircrew Scheduling/ Programming Support

Division: Potawatomi Training

Location: Sheppard AFB, TX

Position Summary

Potawatomi Training LLC (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified candidate with a desired two (2) to four (4) years of experience in an operational flying unit to fulfill an Aircrew Scheduling/Programming Support training function.

AIRCREW SCHEDULING SUPPORT: Aircrew Scheduling / Programming Support personnel will work at Headquarters Air Education and Training Command (HQ AETC) at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and update daily aircrew flight schedules and training events.

  • Coordinate flight events, academics, and simulator devices as well as the crew complement to meet training syllabus requirements.

  • Change and update the schedule to maximize resources when anomalies such as aircraft mechanical problems, medical issues, flight evaluation requirements, expiring event currencies, deployments, student training continuity, weather, student performance, simulator maintenance problems, or other factors affecting the schedule

  • Compare anticipated sortie taskings against the qualification, availability, and training requirements of available crewmembers.

  • Maintain accuracy while managing rapidly changing operational requirements and competing priorities.

  • Build long-range (weekly) and execute short-range (daily) schedules IAW local SOP's and Programmed Flying Training (PFT) requirements.

  • Analyzes extensive aviation training syllabi (100+ pages) to identify training pitfalls, progressions standards, qualification criteria and training event prerequisites. Performs detailed data analysis of new syllabus annually.

  • Monitor scheduling conflicts and recommend solutions to maximize training efficiency

  • Understand contact, instrument, formation, navigation and solo flying principles

  • Identify conflicts, gaps, or inefficiencies within scheduling and recommend corrective actions.

  • Identify impacts resulting from syllabus changes, training delays, resource limitations, instructor availability, and student progression

  • Ensure that events do not exceed maximum duty day IAW applicable syllabus, testable material instruction limitation, crew rest, or other scheduling/syllabus limitations.

  • Maintains working knowledge of multiple aircraft training pipelines and associate program requirements.

  • Exercises independent judgment to resolve conflicts between training requirements, resource constraints, and mission priorities.

  • Identify syllabus deviations and report them to leadership..

  • Collect and maintain historical data on flights, simulators and academics and duties including weather attrition, maintenance attrition, completion rates, and syllabus flow

  • Prepare reports, metrics and scheduling products for leadership review.

  • Coordinate with Training, SARM, Mission Support and Stan/Eval or equivalents to arrange a schedule to facilitate qualification upgrade, currency, and continuation training IAW DO priorities as needed.

  • Determine the following additional duty requirements from squadron flights: Runway Supervisory Unit (RSU) Recorder, Spotter, Tinder/Cooter, Student Duty Officer (SDO), and wrangler/duty desk assistants.

  • Maintain knowledge of NATO aviation SOP's, tactical guidance and operational procedures and restrictions

  • Utilize the Graduate/ Training Integrated Management System (GTIMS) and/or comparable weapon system specific Training Management System (TMS)

  • Operate office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, phone systems and use computers for spreadsheets, word processing, database management, electronic mail and other applications.

  • Accomplish any training necessary to execute tasks


Education & Experience Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Experience

  • Desire at least two (2) years of experience working in a DoD operational flying unit (active duty, guard/reserve, contractor or civilian).

  • Knowledge of training flow management, event sequencing, qualification requirements and resource coordination

  • Ability to interpret, analyze and apply complex aviation syllabi, governing instructions, and translating operational requirements into executable schedules

  • Understanding of how training dependencies, instructor availability, simulator resources and aircraft availability impact student progression and timeline

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to plan/execute contingencies, make timely decisions and adapt to changing conditions (weather, illness, aircraft availability)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and scheduling/database systems (TIMS, GTIMS, PEX, X-plan)

  • Operate Computer-based training, SharePoint websites and communities of practice

  • If prior service, must have received an honorable discharge

  • Will be subject to Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.


Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands

  • Must be physically able to perform all the technical duties

  • Must be able to adapt to highly stressful multi-task environment for extended periods of time/up to eight (8) hours
