TEKsystems is seeking a Mid-Level Communications Network Engineer to join an exciting opportunity supporting the NGEN-R SMIT mission— the Navy’s largest IT services program.
As part of the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) initiative, the Leidos team delivers the foundational infrastructure of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet. This includes cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk support, and data transport.
In this role, you will contribute to the modernization and unification of the Navy’s shore-based networks and data management systems, helping to enhance operational capability while driving cost efficiencies through a streamlined enterprise network approach.
The ideal candidate will leverage strong expertise in network communications, architecture, security controls, and configuration management. A solid understanding of enterprise networking design, administration, and troubleshooting is essential, along with the ability to adhere to detailed installation and configuration management policies and procedures.

TEKsystems is hiring a Mid-level Network administrator for a large navy contract. Must have 6+ years of IT experience, experience in Cisco environments, sec+, DoD secret clearance and CCNA within 6 months of hire. Need to be operating at the CCNA level if you do not already have your CCNA.
Work Environment
On site – You will be going from site to site to install/troubleshoot/engineer network gear for Navy customers/end users.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Work as a Network Engineer on a team responsible for design, development and integration of current and future network architectures.
• Define configuration baselines and versioning; initiate and conduct studies that examine upgrades and changes to the system and communications infrastructure.
• Provide network engineering knowledge and skills to support everyday network operations, integration/installation and test and evaluation activities.
• Perform detailed maintenance and troubleshooting using a thorough grasp of network architecture, networking hardware, protocols and routing and switching.
• Support network design reviews mainly focused on cybersecurity requirements and security controls.
• Coordinate network upgrades and maintenance activities with build and installation plans.
