Job Description

Duties

  • You will have practical knowledge of basic supply program operations, when such work requires the application of some judgement and analysis to provide services or resolve problems.
  • You will perform recurring kinds of assignments, operations and/or procedures in providing services and resolving issues and problems of a procedural nature in the supply operation of the Material Kiting Branch.
  • You will search for and analyze information, trace sequences of transactions to resolve questions, prepare entries for supply record systems, and provide supply information, reports, and services.
  • You will recommend actions to eliminate problems involved in delivering services of managing material removed from submarines to a designated refurbishment location.

  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

*Experience working with production to positively verify status, destination, and storage needs of all rip-out material.
*Experience ensuring all materials is adequately and promptly tagged with a material control tag per local requirements
*Experience orchestrating routing of rip-out and carcass material to material envelope or long-term storage.
*Experience monitoring and controlling project laydown areas on the deck-plate.
*Experience working closely with lifting and handling operations to understand schedule and requirements of lifts.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

*Experience owning and maintaining accurate rip-out logbook or equivalent tracking system for both short term and long-term storage items.
*Experience coordinating with project management and engineering as required to resolve material rip-out and material escalation issues.
*Experience using practical knowledge of a wide range of well established and commonly applied principles, concepts, and methodologies in multiple technical supply specializations of inventory, packaging, and storing/distributing.
*Experience planning, evaluating, and selecting appropriate sites and facilities for storing shipboard equipment.
*Experience determining the suitability and usefulness of existing storage sites and facilities including both covered and open storage areas.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree, LL.B, J.D., or have completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree. One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours should be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
