Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing the design and development of information systems to provide optimization recommendations or problem-solving support.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Planning, organizing, or guiding the analysis and design and development of information management systems.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Working with customers to determine requirements or problems; evaluating customer business functions to improve information management system solutions.
3. - You will serve as an Information Technology Project Manager for one or more projects to support maintenance engineering, planning, and procurement for various classes of submarines and submersibles on a variety of computing platform.
- You will evaluate customer business functions and translate requirements into proposals for new or improved information solutions by identifying and proposing alternatives based on cost and benefit analysis.
- You will forecast and analyze future impacts on the existing information management systems and recommends ways to incorporate future requirements.
- You will plan, organize, and guide the analysis and design and development of information management systems.
- You will work closely with customers to thoroughly define the system by use cases, IDEF, flow charts, window specifications, object models, and judicious use and demonstration of prototypes.
- You will perform cost assessments and analyses.
- You will develop the necessary supporting information and recommend actions that reduce cost without impairing the effectiveness of an information management system.
- You will provide standards (requirements), guidelines (recommendations), and approaches to application lifecycle development.
- You will chair meetings with technical and managerial personnel within and external to SUBMEPP to discuss and resolve technical and project issues.
- You will recognize possible new directions in resolving problems where guidelines and precedents either do not exist or are not directly applicable.
