Position Overview
Ataero is seeking a highly qualified Systems Integration / GRA / BISF (ADVEW) Engineer to support Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Program Manager Airborne Electronic Attack Systems (PMA-272). The selected candidate will provide engineering and technical expertise supporting Advanced Electronic Warfare (ADVEW) initiatives, systems integration efforts, Government Reference Architecture (GRA) development, and Business Integration Support Framework (BISF) implementation across airborne electronic attack and mission systems programs.
The successful candidate will support the integration, interoperability, modernization, testing, and sustainment of advanced electronic warfare capabilities while ensuring alignment with open architecture principles, digital engineering initiatives, and Naval Aviation mission requirements.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in systems engineering, mission systems integration, electronic warfare technologies, software and hardware interoperability, and Department of Defense acquisition programs. Military aviation, NAVAIR, and Electronic Warfare experience are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering and integration support for Advanced Electronic Warfare (ADVEW) capabilities and related mission systems.
- Support development, implementation, and maintenance of Government Reference Architectures (GRA) and Business Integration Support Framework (BISF) strategies.
- Analyze and develop system architectures supporting open systems approaches, modular designs, and interoperability requirements.
- Support integration of electronic warfare systems, mission systems, sensors, communications systems, avionics, and aircraft survivability equipment.
- Participate in systems engineering activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle, including requirements development, architecture analysis, integration planning, testing, fielding, and sustainment.
- Evaluate system interfaces, data exchange requirements, software integration approaches, and mission system interoperability.
- Support digital engineering initiatives, model-based systems engineering (MBSE), and systems architecture development efforts.
- Participate in Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), and engineering reviews.
- Conduct technical assessments, trade studies, risk analyses, and engineering evaluations.
- Support developmental, operational, and integrated test planning and execution activities.
- Coordinate with government program offices, warfare centers, fleet stakeholders, laboratories, and industry partners.
- Develop technical reports, engineering documentation, acquisition artifacts, and executive-level briefings.
- Support classified and special access programs as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience supporting systems integration, systems engineering, mission systems, electronic warfare programs, or military aviation platforms.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition programs and system lifecycle management activities.
- Knowledge of systems architecture development, integration methodologies, requirements management, and interoperability standards.
- Experience supporting mission systems integration, software-intensive systems, or airborne electronic warfare programs.
- Active Secret security clearance required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain higher levels of security access as required.
Desired Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- SAP eligibility.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
- Experience supporting PMA-272, PMA-234, PMA-265, NAVAIR, NAWCAD, NAWCWD, or Joint Service aviation programs.
- Experience with Government Reference Architecture (GRA), Business Integration Support Framework (BISF), Open Mission Systems (OMS), Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), FACE, or similar architecture frameworks.
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML, Cameo, DOORS, or related systems engineering tools.
- Prior military service in Naval Aviation, Marine Aviation, Air Force Aviation, Army Aviation, Electronic Warfare, Cyber, Intelligence, or Mission Systems disciplines.
- Experience supporting airborne electronic attack, electromagnetic spectrum operations (EMSO), electronic warfare systems, aircraft survivability equipment, or mission system modernization efforts.
- DAWIA certification or equivalent acquisition experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Knowledge of advanced electronic warfare systems, mission systems, and interoperability requirements.
- Familiarity with open architecture frameworks and digital engineering initiatives.
