About The Role
The Health, State & Local Sector: Health Solutions team is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join one of our Agile teams developing enhancements to the Medicare Part B claims processing system. Our teams follow Agile/scrum practices. Teams are responsible for creating technical design deliverables and technical and system user documentation. They develop new programs, enhance existing programs, build test plans, test cases, and test data and then execute those tests.
The Business Analyst will work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Medicare contractor community to understand business and user needs and provide application development and maintenance support to the Multi-Carrier System (MCS); the system utilized to process Medicare Part B claims. This position requires a motivated self-starter with a strong desire to learn, who enjoys working in a team environment and interacting with the users of the system. Experience working in a healthcare environment and claims coding experience, or in a financial environment, is desirable.

Target Salary Range: $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.

What you'll do:
- Research to understand proposed system changes
- Analyze business and technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processes.
- Create detailed specifications/requirements for program changes.
- Create and update system documentation and user specifications
- Work with scrum team members to build and demo requirements into program changes
- Create and execute detailed Testing Plans.
- Provide expertise in the formulation of systems scope and objectives relative to the business plan and industry requirements.
- Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
- As a member of a project/Agile team, provide guidance related to the business implications of the changes and the impacts to other CMS systems.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and 0-2 years experience or High School diploma/equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience
- Strong desire to learn and grow
- Strong ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Experience in the organizing projects using Agile Methodology or other methods.
- Experience utilizing AI tools.
- Demonstrated ability plan projects, for example, to create requirement documents and test plans
- Proficient at MSOffice (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to learn mainframe applications such as TSO/ISPF
- Strong written and verbal communication at a level appropriate for customer and internal communication
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
