Systems Engineer

Requirements Verification & Integration Testing

Full-Time with an Employee Owned and Best Places to Work Contractor

Onsite in Huntsville, AL | Schedule: 9x80

We are hiring a Systems Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama, to support advanced defense and missile defense programs involving systems integration, requirements verification, software testing, and systems engineering lifecycle activities. This role requires experience with DOORS, requirements management, test planning, software integration, Python scripting, and verification and validation (V&V) efforts supporting complex system development throughout the systems engineering "V" lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Support system design, requirements development, and systems engineering activities throughout the full system lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain use cases, test plans, test procedures, and verification documentation.
  • Perform requirements verification and validation activities through manual testing and test execution.
  • Develop test artifacts, test cases, and supporting documentation to demonstrate compliance with system and software requirements.
  • Utilize requirements management tools, including DOORS, to support requirements traceability and verification efforts.
  • Support software integration, system testing, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Develop and execute verification procedures and document test results.
  • Apply Python scripting and automation techniques to support testing and engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and integration teams to resolve technical issues and support program objectives.
  • Participate in technical reviews, engineering discussions, and program milestone activities.
  • Contribute to the development of systems engineering artifacts, including specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, and Trade Studies.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in systems engineering, software integration, software testing, or requirements verification.
  • Working knowledge of system design, requirements development, use cases, test planning, procedure development, and test execution.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Experience with software testing, software integration, and verification and validation (V&V) activities.
  • Experience developing test artifacts, test cases, and executing manual tests in support of requirements verification.
  • Knowledge of Python and automation scripting.
  • Ability to analyze technical concepts and document findings in engineering work products and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and within a collaborative engineering team environment.
  • Must be able to support an onsite, closed-area work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program.
  • Broad systems engineering experience across the full systems engineering "V" lifecycle model.
  • Experience with software development processes and software requirements verification.
  • Battle Management or Fire Control systems experience.
  • MBSE certification and/or INCOSE certification.
  • Experience developing systems engineering artifacts, including:
    • Specifications
    • Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
    • Use Cases
    • System Architecture Descriptions
    • Trade Studies
    • Technical Engineering Documentation
