Description:Role Overview
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Project Engineer to support production readiness and manufacturing execution within the Reentry Operations Center. This role partners closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, tooling, and operations teams to help transition products and processes into stable, repeatable production.
You'll help solve technical production challenges, improve manufacturing performance, and support process execution in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the transition of products and processes into production
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to improve manufacturing execution
• Identify and help resolve production risks, technical issues, and process gaps
• Coordinate with design, manufacturing, tooling, quality, and test teams to improve producibility
• Support manufacturing process development and production readiness activities
• Assist with process improvement and operational stability initiatives
• Help drive technical execution in a scaling production environment

Basic Qualifications:
To be considered, candidates must meet all requirements listed:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience working in manufacturing, production, engineering, or industrial environments
• Experience supporting technical problem solving or resolving production-related issues
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy but are not required:
• Experience supporting production ramp-up, manufacturing transition, or new product introduction activities
• Familiarity with machining, fabrication, assembly, tooling, or production testing
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) or Design for Assembly (DFA)
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods
• Experience working in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing environments
• Active Secret Clearance

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
