Description:Role Overview

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Project Engineer to support manufacturing execution and production readiness within the Reentry Operations Center.

In this role, you will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to help transition products and processes into stable, repeatable production. You'll support technical problem-solving, manufacturing integration, and process improvement efforts that directly impact factory performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and operations teams to support stable and repeatable production execution

• Support manufacturing integration and production readiness activities

• Identify and help resolve manufacturing risks, technical blockers, and process gaps

• Coordinate across design, manufacturing, tooling, test, and quality teams to improve producibility

• Support technical troubleshooting and manufacturing issue resolution efforts

• Assist with process improvement and production optimization initiatives

• Work directly with production and shop floor teams to improve execution and operational performance

• Contribute to manufacturing capability and process stability efforts in a growing production environment

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered, candidates must meet all requirements listed:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Aerospace, or related engineering field, or equivalent relevant experience

• Experience working in manufacturing, production, industrial, or engineering environments

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, technical troubleshooting, and production execution

• Experience identifying and resolving manufacturing or process-related issues

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation

• Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and operations teams

• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy but are not required:

• Experience supporting new product introduction or production ramp activities

• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation

• Familiarity with machining, fabrication, assembly, tooling, or production test operations

• Experience improving manufacturing process capability or production stability

• Experience working directly with shop floor teams to resolve technical issues

• Familiarity with aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing environments

• Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles

• Experience supporting process validation, first article inspections, or manufacturing qualification activities

• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods

• Active Secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
