Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Analyst to support mission-critical cybersecurity operations protecting Federal agencies and critical infrastructure organizations from evolving cyber threats. This role focuses on securing cloud-based technology integration initiatives, assessing cloud deployments, monitoring security posture, and ensuring compliance with Federal security requirements.
The selected candidate will support cloud-enabled pilots and production environments by evaluating cloud architectures, implementing security controls, conducting compliance assessments, and identifying risks associated with cloud technologies. Working closely with engineers, developers, cloud architects, and cybersecurity teams, the Cloud Security Analyst will help ensure cloud solutions are secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned with Zero Trust principles.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess the security of cloud-based technology integration pilots and emerging cloud capabilities.
• Monitor and maintain cloud security posture across integrated cloud environments and services.
• Conduct security reviews of cloud architectures, configurations, and deployment models.
• Ensure cloud environments comply with Federal security requirements, policies, and standards.
• Implement and manage cloud security controls, monitoring solutions, and security automation capabilities.
• Support the secure development and deployment of local Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-enabled technologies within approved operational boundaries.
• Identify cloud security risks and develop mitigation strategies to address vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
• Monitor cloud environments for security events, anomalous activity, and indicators of compromise.
• Conduct security validation testing and assessments for cloud-based pilot programs and new technology integrations.
• Support the transition of cloud-based pilots and prototypes into secure production environments.
• Document cloud security controls, compliance evidence, assessment results, and remediation activities.
• Coordinate with cloud service providers and stakeholders to ensure security requirements are implemented and maintained.
• Support continuous monitoring activities and cloud security automation initiatives.
• Ensure cloud implementations align with Zero Trust architecture principles and cybersecurity best practices.
• Provide cloud security guidance and recommendations to engineering, development, and operations teams.
• Assist with governance, risk management, and compliance activities related to cloud deployments.
Mandatory Skills
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Minimum of 6+ years of experience in cloud security, cybersecurity analysis, or related security disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security services and capabilities within: Amazon Web, Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience utilizing cloud security assessment, monitoring, and compliance tools.
• Understanding of Federal cloud security requirements including: FedRAMP, NIST security frameworks, and Federal cybersecurity compliance standards
• Knowledge of cloud security frameworks, architectures, and industry best practices.
• Experience with security monitoring technologies, SIEM platforms, and security analytics.
• Experience supporting cloud governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience documenting technical findings, security controls, and compliance activities.
Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting Federal cybersecurity, cloud security, or critical infrastructure protection programs.
• Background in malware analysis, threat hunting, or incident response within cloud environments.
• Experience securing containerized environments including:
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Knowledge of AI/ML security considerations and secure deployment practices.
• Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) security scanning and validation processes.
• Familiarity with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) platforms and technologies.
• Understanding of multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud security architectures.
• Experience implementing cloud-native security controls and automated security monitoring solutions.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture principles and cloud security implementation strategies.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
