Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting complex, multi-jurisdictional criminal investigations of federal and state laws relating to natural resources and environmental protection AND applying advanced investigative techniques such as undercover operations, surveillance, and evidence collection, preparing detailed reports for prosecution and providing testimony in federal court.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.M., if related

- You will conduct undercover operations, collect physical evidence through searches, collect digital evidence, and conduct patrols using 4x4 motor vehicles, watercraft, and all-terrain vehicles.
- You will develop and submit proper reports and provide testimony in state and federal courts.
- You will conduct interviews of victims and witnesses, and interrogations of possible suspects, along with arresting or detaining all subjects suspected of violations of Federal, State, and local laws.
- You will support the outdoor recreation programs, account for outdoor recreational users, and lead search and rescue missions when necessary.
- You will coordinate with Federal, State, and local enforcement authorities for training, case development and support, and information exchanges.

- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will be required to attend the Federal Law Enforcement Center Land Management Police Training in order to be issued Department of Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Law Enforcement Officer credentials.
- You are required to obtain and maintain a Law Enforcement Commission with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and to be appointed by the Commanding General for the base.
- Satisfactory completion of medical examination required and maintaining a high degree of physical fitness per Marine Corps order 5090.4.
