SUPERVISORY SUPPLY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Duties

• Oversees procurement, receiving, tracking, and disposal of supplies for the MTF and associated clinics.
• Oversees the administration of supply, inventory, and logistics programs for MTF and outlying clinics.
• Analyzes, coordinates, and manages staffing, budget, and material management systems.
• Responsible for strategic planning, evaluation, and continuous quality reviews of all supply and logistics policies and procedures.
• Operates a forklift to move, load, unload, transfer, and stock supply items as necessary.
• Supervisory duties include planning and assigning work, establishing performance standards, creating schedules and workloads, and auditing completed tasks.
• The incumbent also provides guidance to senior management, addresses complaints and grievances from internal customers and external suppliers, and evaluates contractor performance in monthly reports.
• Supervise military personnel by setting standards, assigning training, and implementing disciplinary actions, when required, in collaboration with senior active-Duty members.

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• A Forklift Certificate or License is required for this position within six months of hire and must be kept current thereafter.
• Required to be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (hepatitis, influenza, etc.), unless exempted by a licensed physician.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes implementing supply policies and procedures, assisting in overseeing budget and material management systems and planning and assigning work to employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration, Supply Management or Logistics.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
