Position Overview JS J-7 produces and revises joint publications that guide how the joint force fights and operates. The Doctrine Analyst provides detailed, in-depth analysis during development and revision, applying subject-matter expertise in a functional area to keep doctrine technically accurate. The role advances publications through the development process and strengthens the analytic quality the Joint Doctrine Development Community expects. Essential Job Function

- Provide detailed doctrine analysis supporting development and revision of joint publications.
- Apply subject-matter expertise in a functional area such as intelligence, logistics, command and control, cyberspace, space, or planning.
- Review and analyze allied doctrine publications and Comment Resolution Matrices to support revision efforts.
- Produce special studies and emerging doctrine reviews on force-employment and design issues.
- Support doctrine working groups and conferences and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience; or no degree with at least 7 years warfighting operational experience.
- Experience: Demonstrated success in five (5) or more of the following: one year equivalent to the Junior Doctrine Analyst category; subject-matter expertise in a functional area (intelligence, logistics, command and control, cyberspace, space, or planning); joint doctrine principles; assessment and development of joint and multinational doctrine; Joint Staff structure and organizational relationships; Joint Staff relationships with CCMDs, Services, and DoD Agencies; written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; Joint and Service Lessons Learned Systems; the Universal Joint Tasks process; and modern English grammar.
- Security Clearance: Secret (per Staffing Plan).
- Recognized subject-matter expertise in more than one joint functional area.
- Prior service on a Joint Staff, Combatant Command, or Service doctrine development team.
