1) Directing, leading, or supervising fuel operations and fuel systems maintenance in accordance with and established personnel management laws, regulations, and practices; 2) Assisting in the development of facility projects to sustain, repair, and modernize facilities; 3) Analyzing or evaluating petroleum facility operational and environmental management; 4) Providing oversight and/or supervision to ensure compliance with environmental, transportation laws and regulations relating to bulk fuel facilities; 5) Preparing reports, resolving conflicts, creating annual operating budget requests, and directing operations and maintenance of a bulk fuel facility. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, when performing outside inspections and observations of fuel facilities, construction projects, spill responses, and fuel evolutions in all types of weather. Ascending/descending vertical ladders in excess of 30 ft (while wearing fall protection rigging) may be required. Some walking, standing, bending or carrying light objects or driving a government vehicle are required. Some entry into confined spaces will be required (into tanks, valve vaults, tunnels etc.).
Incumbent may be subject to occasional travel of up to 25%. This may require walking, bending and climbing during visits to various Navy and commercial installations. During the course of this travel, industrial facilities may be visited or toured.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work is performed in settings in which work performed outside and may be subject to adverse weather conditions (heat/cold/rain/snow), confined spaces, metal vessel decks, and on watercraft during spill responses or drills. There may be exposure to noxious fumes and odors, toxic vapors while observing work or making inspections, or petroleum vapor exposure during inspection of work. employee may be subject to hazardous fumes and noise which requires appropriate safety precautions and use of personal protective equipment (hearing protection, Class D PPE over clothing, safety glasses, etc.)

- You will serve as the Deputy Director of the Regional Fuel Department and will be responsible for operation and maintenance of two deep-water fuel terminals and oversee the management of fuel service activities throughout the Southeast region.
- You will develop facility projects to sustain, repair, and modernize facilities while creating and maintaining operating budgets.
- You will ensure compliance with environmental, transportation, and personnel management laws and regulations.
- You will direct fuel operations and fuel systems maintenance while ensuring safe receipt, handling, storing, and quality assurance.
- You will analyze, evaluate, and improve petroleum, oil, and lubricants (POL) supply chain management.
- You will supervise subordinates by providing leadership, delegating tasks, and handling conflicts.
