Job Description
The Windows Systems Administrator will provide systems engineering and administration support for mission-critical, contract-owned systems operating in a classified DoD environment. This role delivers Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, oversees lifecycle maintenance of Windows-based infrastructure, and leads a team of system administrators in daily operations and engineering activities.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role supporting secure, enterprise-level Windows server and network environments.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and coordinate technical activities of assigned system administrators, providing leadership on enterprise Windows infrastructure operations.
• Provide Tier 3 support for in-house developed systems and site-unique enhancements.
• Maintain Windows server operating systems at Government-required versions.
• Maintain COTS, GOTS, and Open-Source software at required versions.
• Install, configure, test, administer, and troubleshoot server and client software upgrades.
• Develop engineering assessments of system configurations and recommend improvements.
• Support network monitoring activities and firewall configuration as required.
• Administer Active Directory architecture, DNS, DHCP, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
• Manage VMware environments including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Support SAN storage, enterprise backup and recovery solutions, and automation through PowerShell scripting.
• Participate in change and configuration control processes to ensure compliance within classified DoD environments
