The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Demonstrates ability to operate and repair various HVAC and power distribution DDC systems; 2) Uses engineering schematics, knowledge of front-end software, computer generated graphics, database information and a wide array of sophisticated DDC programs to determine system operation; and 3) Demonstrates superior ability to perform full range of HVAC DDC related skills. Experienced in troubleshooting DDC control on HVAC related system, equipment, and components. Knowledgeable of various HVAC systems and functions.

Moderate lifting up to 40 pounds is required. If a heavier lift is required, it must not be attempted without assistance. Must be able to work at a rapid pace for a short period of time. Occasionally required to perform work by stooping, bending, and reaching while in cramped and uncomfortable positions and by walking, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds to perform work at various heights. Normal vision is required.
Some work is performed outdoors with exposure to weather. Conditions vary between pleasant areas and rooftops, equipment rooms, under buildings, and confined spaces. Work may occur in high-noise areas requiring hearing protection, as well as very hot or cold, poorly lit, or poorly ventilated spaces-sometimes for an entire shift. The incumbent may encounter fumes, dust, dirt, grease, oil, and risks such as scrapes, cuts, bruises, burns, electric shock, and eye hazards.
- You will install, overhaul, repair, and modify electronically controlled industrial systems, including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Direct Digital Controls (DDC), to ensure maximum system reliability and efficiency.
- You will interpret complex engineering drawings, electrical and electronic schematics, logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings to trace signal flows and troubleshoot malfunctions.
- You will perform pretest, operational, and final testing, tuning, and calibration on complex electronic systems using specialized equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers.
- You will debug, edit, create, and install programs, software, and firmware for industrial control devices utilizing Niagara AX, Lon, and BACnet protocols while monitoring for IT security breaches.
- You will administer the Operations Center, maintain pass-down event logs, and perform preventive maintenance in varied indoor and outdoor physical environments while adhering to strict safety and environmental regulations.

- This is an emergency response position. In the event of an emergency, the incumbent may be required to report to work during a non-duty/duty hour and during emergency situations, may be assigned duties other than those in the position description.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Incumbent may be required to serve on-call duty on a rotational basis. When on-call, the incumbent is required to carry a duty cell phone and duty pager and must remain available to respond on site to after-hour emergencies within two hours.
