A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 1071 series.
Education
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled.

As a Supervisory Audio Visual Production Specialist at the GS-1071-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Responsible for day-to-day planning and execution of producing multimedia products and services created at WMA.
- Provides direction and oversight on creating media production and administrative matters.
- Directs and guides the efforts of Navy Production Division's multimedia branch who plan, design, and create engaging visual information elements to include videography, still photography, graphic design, motion graphics, and 3D modeling.
- Ensure content producers, videographers, and photographers create and capture compelling content that enhances the communication of DoW and service messages/themes for all products and productions.
- Develops, establishes, and communicates performance standards; provides subordinate employees with the tools, training, and authority they need to be successful in their jobs and holds them accountable for their performance.
- Monitors employees to ensure quality work standards are met.
- Communicates job objectives, drafts performance plans and evaluations, provides feedback, and ensures all employees are provided with information relating to media production, planning, tasking, and workflow/output.
