Facilities Planner III

This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance to be considered.

Cherokee Federal is seeking a highly motivated Facilities Planner to support the Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES) Facilities IT infrastructure requirements on assigned FSRM and MILCON projects. This position coordinates drawings, schedules, site access, stakeholder communication, and project documentation to help ensure IT and OT infrastructure scope is properly incorporated, executed, and turned over in support of mission requirements.

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Facilities Planner III: Pay commensurate with experience.

Facilities Planner III Responsibilities Include:
  • Assist in tracking and providing subject matter support for infrastructure matters as they relate to MARFORRES facilities and construction projects.
  • Assist in the oversight of the creation of artifacts required for ATOs (Authority to Operate) using the customer's required formatting and provide feedback on the creation process.
  • Provide input on cybersecurity of Facilities Related Control Systems (FRCS) during the design process in accordance with DoD standards.
  • Provide oversight and recommendations on cybersecurity standards and implementation as they relate to MARFORRES OT and FRCS systems.
  • Coordinate with G-F, G-6, G-3/5, Regional Facility Managers, project monitors, executing agencies, and contractors to communicate requirements and maintain schedule alignment.
  • Coordinate timeline development, site access, outage planning, updates to drawings and plans, and routine stakeholder communication to ensure project clarity.
  • Facilitate recurring coordination meetings and provide accurate status updates of active infrastructure projects to stakeholders.
  • Review construction documentation including drawings, planning documents, and white papers and provide feedback regarding accuracy, completeness, and required changes.
  • Ensure facility IT and OT infrastructure requirements are reflected in project planning and design reviews and support compliance with MARFORRES MCEN and applicable UFC criteria.
  • Track remote site infrastructure, maintenance functions and other assigned infrastructure workstreams to ensure equipment and systems continue to support mission requirements.
  • Coordinate oversight of schedules and responsible entities to help ensure all IT and OT infrastructure tasks are completed on time.
  • Review project RFIs, design changes, and infrastructure-related issues and report impacts to scope, schedule, and operations.
  • Maintain issue, action, and decision logs associated with assigned infrastructure projects and track items through closure.
  • Provide weekly and monthly project status reports, meeting notes, and briefing support as required.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly updates of planned and existing FRCS cybersecurity as they relate to planning and ongoing projects.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Facilities Planner III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
  • A bachelor's degree in related field, or education/past performance in the related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, telecommunications, military facilities, or project coordination.
  • BICSI Technician Certifications, CompTIA Security Plus, CCNA Certification or equivalent certifications are preferred.
  • Prior U.S. military or DoD experience in a related position or field is preferred; U.S. Marine Corps experience is highly desired.
  • Experience supporting facility IT infrastructure on renovation, sustainment, or MILCON projects, preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and project tracking tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out support tasks related to facilities operations, construction coordination, and infrastructure planning.
  • On-site work.
  • Travel - approximately 25%.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
