Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services supporting AI-enabled applications and enterprise search capabilities
- Develop and manage APIs, microservices, and system integrations
- Build secure data pipelines and services connecting mission systems, enterprise data sources, and AI platforms
- Support integration of AI technologies into operational workflows
- Design and optimize database structures, data access layers, and backend architectures
- Collaborate with front-end developers, AI engineers, cloud engineers, and architects to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Implement monitoring, logging, and performance optimization strategies
- Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD processes, and Agile development activities
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with cloud-native development in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on backend engineering
- Experience developing APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
- Strong experience with one or more backend languages: Python, Java, Node.js/TypeScript, or Go
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs
- Understanding of secure software development practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Databricks and large-scale data processing environments
- Experience integrating AI-powered applications, Generative AI capabilities, or LLM services
- Familiarity with AI agent frameworks, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, or enterprise search technologies
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud infrastructure automation
- Experience supporting federal government programs or highly regulated environments
Compensation
Salary Range: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00
Final compensation is based on technical skills, experience, education, certifications, and clearance.
