Job Description
Join a team that delivers critical HR services supporting the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC): COLSA is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Human Resources In-Processing & Benefits Caseworker to support our government customer through the delivery of HR services at the NSSC. In this role, you will guide new and current employees through onboarding, benefits enrollment, and employment lifecycle processes while providing outstanding customer service and ensuring compliance with federal HR regulations.
Please Note: This is a temporary/casual, remote position anticipated to continue through approximately December 2026. The position is subject to applicable Wage Determination/Service Contract Act requirements. Candidates must reside in a state where COLSA currently conducts business or is authorized to employ personnel.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage onboarding activities for new hires using USA Staffing Onboarding (USASO).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for selectees from job offer through Entry on Duty (EOD).
- Provide individualized counseling on federal employee benefits and enrollment options.
- Review, process, and maintain personnel and benefits documentation.
- Conduct quality reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of onboarding and benefits actions.
- Maintain case records within the Human Resource Service Delivery (HRSD) system.
- Process benefits transactions including FEHB, FEGLI, Temporary Continuation of Coverage (TCC), and related actions.
- Collaborate with agencies and benefit providers to resolve employee inquiries and coverage issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal laws, regulations, NASA guidance, and OPM requirements.

Required Experience
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 8 years of related human resources experience.
- Knowledge of onboarding, benefits administration, and HR support functions.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- U.S. Citizenship required; Must be able to successfully undergo a background investigation for a position of Public Trust
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal HR operations.
- Familiarity with USA Staffing Onboarding, HRSD systems, and electronic personnel records.
- Knowledge of federal employee benefits programs and OPM regulations.
- Experience working in a remote and/or collaborative team environment.
