Job Description
Join a team that delivers critical HR services supporting the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC): COLSA is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused HR Assistant to support Staffing Services and our government customer through the delivery of HR services at the NSSC. The Human Resources Assistant provides support to the NASA Shared Services Center Staffing and Classification Branch. This position provides a wide variety of duties supporting the filling of positions across all NASA Centers, answering inquiries regarding specific vacancy announcements and general employment inquiries. The selected candidate will assist with position description editing and other classification-related duties.
Please Note: This is a temporary/casual, remote position anticipated to continue through approximately December 2026. The position is subject to applicable Wage Determination/Service Contract Act requirements. Candidates must reside in a state where COLSA currently conducts business or is authorized to employ personnel.

Responsibilit ies:
- Provide administrative assistance in support of position classification activities, including realignments and reorganizations.
- Coordinate with HR Specialists to ensure edits adhere to internal procedures and classification standards. New PDs request, review, and evaluate request, assign to HR Specialist.
- Coordinate the recertification process of PDs as determined by management.
- Respond to applicant inquiries related to active vacancies, including those under special appointing authorities (e.g., Schedule A); coordinate with the Pathways Staffing Coordinator during Pathways recruitment periods.
- Coordinate and process reconsideration requests from applicants with HR Specialists.
- Support HR Specialists by uploading received supporting documentation (e.g., official transcripts) into appropriate case files.
- Verify that USA Staffing (USAS) case files for internal selections include the correct documentation with accurate document types selected.
- Create tasks for the eOPF team to upload necessary documents to the electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF).
- Review eOPFs post-selection to ensure the SF-50 aligns with the final job offer.
- Provide administrative assistance in support of position classification activities, including realignments and reorganizations.
- Coordinate with HR Specialists to ensure edits adhere to internal procedures and classification standards. New PDs request, review, and evaluate request, assign to HR Specialist.
- Coordinate the recertification process of PDs as determined by management.
- Assist in the creation and updating of Knowledge Articles relevant to staffing and classification processes for internal knowledge bases.
- Serve as backup support for the Financial Disclosure Program, including tasks related to OGE 450s, OGE 278s, and OGE 278-T filings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- 8+ years of related experience
- Senior-level knowledge and experience in human resources assistant practices and principles.
- Experience applying comprehensive knowledge of concepts, processes, practices, and procedures for staffing.
- Proficient working in a dynamic, collaborative environment that may be remote and onsite depending on Government Customer needs.
- Ability to work successfully on a team and independently, as well as multitask.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Knowledge utilizing USAStaffing/USAJOBS.
- Knowledge of Federal Pay Setting.
- Proficient MS Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to undergo background investigation for position of Public Trust
