Our client seeks a Tactical Network Engineer to serve as the focal point and subject matter expert for Program Manager C2 Transport efforts across PdM Network Modernization, At-the-Halt, On-the-Move, and SATCOM networks. The engineer will identify and report issues, recommend resolutions, manage configurations and incidents, and lead validation and testing of tactical network systems delivered to units. The role includes coordinating system development tasks with systems engineering leads, providing oversight for SATCOM systems, baseband networking, and software development, and collaborating across embedded support teams and stakeholders. The engineer will develop and present briefings, support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown, and work closely with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other personnel.
Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicant must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:
- Serve as subject matter expert for PdM Network Modernization, At-the-Halt, On-the-Move, and SATCOM networks.
- Identify and report problems and discrepancies, recommend resolutions, and document configurations, incidents, test procedures, and results.
- Configure, validate, and test tactical network systems delivered to units.
- Exercise technical leadership to drive agreement on actions, schedules, and resolution of conflicting viewpoints.
- Coordinate system development tasks with systems engineering leads based on integration challenges and new requirements.
- Provide systems engineering oversight for development and testing of SATCOM systems, baseband networking equipment, and software.
- Collaborate with embedded support teams and stakeholders to implement plans that meet program objectives.
- Represent program interests at planning conferences with units and other organizations.
- Develop and present briefings on systems engineering, network architecture planning, and test status.
- Support network planning, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown.
- Coordinate closely with unit CFSRs, S6 staff, and other personnel.
Experience Requirements:
- Eight years of related tactical network engineering experience, or fifteen years without a bachelor's degree.
- Extensive experience in network engineering with a record of delivering high-quality solutions.
- Knowledge of network services such as DNS, DHCP, Mail, Active Directory, SharePoint, and related user services desired.
- Specialized experience as an engineer in industry or in active, reserve, or National Guard units desired.
- Experience with PdM Network Modernization products desired.
- Ability to support uncommon tours including nights, weekends, and holidays as mission requires.
- Ability to travel occasionally as required.
- Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Testing, or related field. A bachelor's degree may be substituted with an additional seven years of related tactical network engineering experience.
- Active Secret clearance.
