AI/RPA Technician Trainer
Location: Hampton, VA

Job Description
The AI/RPA Technical SME serves as a core member of Mobile Training Team 2 (MTT 2), delivering hands-on AI and robotic process automation (RPA) capabilities to Air Combat Command (ACC) wings across Western CONUS and OCONUS locations. This is a field-based, execution-focused role responsible for building live automation solutions, training Airmen through hands-on labs, and translating mission needs into technical solutions.
This role requires deploying to operational units, conducting real-time demonstrations using mission data, and developing working proof-of-concept (POC) automations within 2–3 days to address unit-specific workflows.
Job Responsibilities:
Field Deployment & Technical Delivery
- Deploy on multi-week rotations (10–12 wing visits annually) across CONUS/OCONUS locations.
- Deliver hands-on instruction in AI/ML and RPA tools (e.g., AskSage, UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate).
- Conduct Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) labs enabling Airmen to build automations and apply AI workflows.
- Provide tier 3 technical support and answer complex integration and platform questions in real time.
Live Demonstrations & Rapid Prototyping
- Execute live RPA demonstrations using real (approved/sanitized) unit data.
- Build working proof-of-concept automations within 2–3 days of on-site discovery.
- Demonstrate prompt engineering, AI output validation, and mission-aligned use cases.
- Showcase immediately usable AI/RPA solutions for operational adoption.
Use-Case Discovery & Requirements Development
- Conduct workflow discovery sessions with operational personnel.
- Identify automation opportunities and document detailed use cases.
- Evaluate opportunities based on mission impact and automation feasibility.
- Generate technical requirements packages for centralized development teams.
Classified Environment Support
- Deliver training and solution development in SIPRNet and AFSCI environments.
- Build automations compliant with classified data handling and security protocols.
- Coordinate with senior AI/Data SMEs for transition of classified solutions.
Collaboration
- Partner with a Change Management Specialist during all deployments.
- Support adoption initiatives, workshops, and solution ideation sessions.
- Translate technical capabilities into mission-relevant outcomes for stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- 4+ years of hands-on AI/ML and/or RPA development in DoD environments.
- Proven experience building and deploying operational automation solutions.
- Experience delivering technical training or hands-on labs to military or federal audiences.
- Familiarity with Air Force or DoD mission workflows (e.g., intelligence, logistics, mission planning).
- Expertise in UiPath and/or Microsoft Power Automate (desktop and cloud flows).
- Proficiency with DoD-approved AI platforms (e.g., AskSage, Advana, GenAI tools).
- Experience with APIs, data integration, and workflow automation.
- Strong prompt engineering and responsible AI practices.
- Ability to rapidly prototype solutions with minimal infrastructure.
- UiPath Certified RPA Associate or Microsoft Power Automate certification (one required).
- CompTIA Security+ (DoD 8140.03 compliant).
- Demonstrated experience delivering hands-on training.
- Expertise in UiPath and/or Microsoft Power Automate (desktop and cloud flows).
- Proficiency with DoD-approved AI platforms (e.g., AskSage, Advana, GenAI tools).
- Experience with APIs, data integration, and workflow automation.
- Strong prompt engineering and responsible AI practices.
- Ability to rapidly prototype solutions with minimal infrastructure.
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting ISR Wings or operational Air Force units.
- Background in intelligence, mission planning, or logistics workflows.
- Familiarity with Advana, AskSage, or similar platforms.
- Experience in workflow analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
- Knowledge of DoD data governance and accreditation processes.
Work Environment and Travel
- Primary duty station: JBLE, VA (secure facility).
- Regular work in classified environments (SIPRNet, SCIFs).
- Travel: 50–60%, including multi-week rotations (2–4 wings per trip).
- Occasional OCONUS deployments (e.g., Kadena, RAF Lakenheath).
- Core hours: 0800–1700 EST; flexibility required for mission needs.
Performance Expectations
- Deliver live demonstrations at every wing visit.
- Build POCs at a minimum of 50% of site visits.
- Capture 2–3 use cases per deployment.
- Achieve ≥85% completion rate in training labs.
- Provide complete technical coverage with minimal follow-up.
