This position is contingent upon contract award and position availability. Selected candidates will receive a contingent offer of employment, which will become final only upon successful contract award to Maximus, availability of the position, and receipt of authorization to proceed.
This role is hybrid, allowing for remote work, but requires the ability to work onsite at one of the following locations in Northern Virginia: Springfield, Herndon, or Ashburn. Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust is required. An active Public Trust and/or DHS suitability is preferred. Must be a U.S. Citizen without dual citizenship.

Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced systems engineering and operational support across enterprise data center, network, cloud, and infrastructure environments.
- Plan, build, deploy, and maintain server and virtualization platforms across Windows, Linux/Unix, and hybrid infrastructures.
- Execute system provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management activities in alignment with enterprise standards and operational requirements.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, system health, and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure continuous operations.
- Lead and support complex troubleshooting, incident response, and service restoration activities across integrated infrastructure domains.
- Coordinate with network, cloud, security, and operations teams to ensure system stability, compliance, and performance optimization.
- Support testing, validation, and deployment of infrastructure changes, ensuring minimal impact to production environments.
- Execute infrastructure migrations across data centers and cloud environments, maintaining service continuity and performance.
- Maintain and update disaster recovery plans, procedures, and runbooks; support testing and execution of recovery activities.
- Produce operational reports, documentation, and performance metrics to support auditability, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure operations, or enterprise IT support, including experience across multiple infrastructure domains.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise systems engineering across data center, cloud, and infrastructure environments.
- Proven ability to perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis across server, virtualization, and operating system platforms.
- Experience supporting patching, upgrades, and infrastructure lifecycle management activities.
- Strong understanding of Windows, Linux/Unix systems, and virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper V, VMware).
- Experience supporting performance monitoring, testing, and system optimization efforts.
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, including network, cloud, and security teams.
- Experience supporting incident management and service restoration in high-availability environments.
- Experience supporting disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud platforms).
- Experience with automation tools, scripting, or infrastructure as code concepts.
- Knowledge of ITIL-based operations, incident, and change management practices.
- Experience supporting performance monitoring, capacity planning, and system optimization.
- Ability to support complex, multi-domain environments spanning data center, cloud, and network services.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
