Job Description
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced Army Business Development (BD) Executive to support a growing federal contractor's Army-focused growth organization. This fully remote position serves as a critical business development and capture leadership role responsible for identifying, qualifying, and winning new Army opportunities while driving strategic growth initiatives across the Department of the Army. The ideal candidate will possess deep Army relationships, proven capture success, and the ability to independently lead opportunity pursuits from identification through award.
FULLY REMOTE (25-30% Travel) + SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED
Key Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, and capture new business opportunities across Army customers, programs, and commands.
Develop and execute strategic account plans to expand the company's Army footprint.
Build and maintain relationships with Army stakeholders, program offices, acquisition personnel, and industry partners.
Lead capture efforts from opportunity identification through contract award.
Manage opportunity pipelines and provide regular updates to executive leadership.
Conduct customer engagement activities, industry outreach, and market research to identify emerging requirements.
Develop win strategies, competitive assessments, teaming strategies, and capture plans.
Coordinate with proposal, operations, and executive leadership teams throughout the business development lifecycle.
Lead executive-level gate review meetings and pipeline discussions.
Support contract vehicle strategy and positioning efforts across key federal acquisition vehicles.
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
Drive revenue growth by pursuing and securing Army contracts within targeted growth markets.
Qualifications
10+ years of Army experience and/or federal business development experience supporting Army customers.
Proven experience identifying, qualifying, and capturing Army opportunities.
Demonstrated success winning federal contracts in the $10M–$40M range.
Strong understanding of Army acquisition processes and procurement environments.
Existing relationships across Army commands, installations, program offices, and leadership organizations.
Experience leading capture efforts and developing winning growth strategies.
Familiarity with executive pipeline management and opportunity review processes.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple pursuits simultaneously.
Strong presentation and executive communication skills.
Stable employment history with demonstrated career progression.

Prior Army military service.
Experience supporting mid-tier federal government contractors.
Familiarity with major contract vehicles including ITES, OASIS, MAS, and SeaPort.
Experience developing strategic teaming partnerships and subcontractor relationships.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 annually.
Additional commission tied to Total Contract Value (TCV) of awarded contracts.
