The Work

The Systems Analyst III is responsible for analyzing business objectives and problems, identifying alternative technical solutions, and conducting studies and cost/benefit analysis to recommend optimal approaches. This role evaluates user requirements, operational procedures, and process issues to automate workflows or enhance existing computer systems

Responsibilities

  • Analyze business objectives, processes, and problems to identify opportunities for system automation and process improvement.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analyses of alternative technical solutions, recommending approaches that balance functionality, risk, cost, and schedule.
  • Engage with users and stakeholders to gather and document detailed requirements, including data input structures, data transformation rules, and reporting and dashboard needs.
  • Write comprehensive functional and technical specifications describing user needs, system behavior, and required steps for system development or modification.
  • Review existing system capabilities, configurations, and limitations to evaluate the feasibility and impact of proposed changes.
  • Administer and optimize the Snowflake platform, including account configuration, warehouse management, database and schema design support, and resource monitoring.
  • Design and implement role-based access control (RBAC) in Snowflake, ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance and identity and access management (IAM) policies.
  • Configure and maintain SSO integrations (e.g., Okta, SailPoint) to provide secure, seamless access to Snowflake and related tools.
  • Enable and manage Snowflake Cortex AI features, including AI functions, governance configurations, monitoring, and usage optimization.
  • Design, manage, and maintain Snowflake roles, privileges, and user provisioning processes that align with enterprise IAM workflows and compliance requirements.
  • Build, maintain, and troubleshoot data pipelines and transformations using DBT, ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Integrate Snowflake with Openflow (or similar workflow orchestration tools) to automate end-to-end data workflows and operational processes.
  • Monitor and optimize warehouse performance, query execution, and resource consumption to ensure cost-efficient operations.
  • Implement, maintain, and monitor security controls in Snowflake, including data encryption, masking, auditing, and access logging.
  • Develop automation scripts and tooling to streamline provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, and operational tasks in the Snowflake environment.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, data analysts, and AI teams to support data and analytics use cases, troubleshoot issues, and enable new capabilities.
  • Support incident resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives related to the data platform.
  • Contribute to standards, best practices, and documentation for Snowflake administration, data governance, and platform operations.

  • 8+ years of strong, hands-on experience administering the Snowflake platform in a DBA/Admin role.
  • 8+ years of experience implementing RBAC and data access governance within Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience with SSO integration (e.g., Okta, SailPoint) for enterprise data platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience enabling and supporting Snowflake AI (Cortex) capabilities, including AI functions, governance, and monitoring.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and managing Snowflake roles, privileges, and user provisioning aligned with enterprise IAM processes.
  • 8+ years of experience building and supporting data pipelines and transformations using DBT.
  • 8+ years of experience integrating Snowflake with Openflow or similar orchestration tools for workflow automation.
  • 8+ years of experience monitoring and optimizing Snowflake warehouse performance, cost, and query execution.
  • 8+ years of experience implementing data security controls such as encryption, data masking, and audit monitoring in Snowflake or similar platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience developing automation scripts (e.g., Python, SQL, shell, or similar) for provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance of data platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (data engineers, analysts, AI/ML practitioners) to support data and analytics use cases.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.


Desired Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience with DevOps / CI/CD pipelines for data platforms (e.g., using Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • 3+ years of experience integrating Openflow or other workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, Dagster) with Snowflake.
  • 3+ years of familiarity with public sector or healthcare compliance environments (e.g., HIPAA, FedRAMP, CJIS, or state regulatory frameworks).

Working Conditions
