Technical/Professional - Engineering Aide

About the Role
Join our dynamic Structures and Environmental Test Laboratories team at the Sand Lake Road Facility in Orlando, Florida. As an Engineering Aide, you will play an essential role in supporting advanced testing operations vital to engineering innovation. Work directly with state-of-the-art instrumentation and data acquisition systems, collaborating with experts, and contributing to mission-critical projects in a highly specialized environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and connect diverse instrumentation (accelerometers, thermocouples, load cells, pressure and acoustic transducers) for laboratory testing.
- Set up and operate digital data acquisition systems, ensuring proper signal conditioning and system functionality.
- Collect, process, and format instrumentation response data to meet customer specifications and high-quality standards.
- Interface with internal customers to clarify requirements and deliver accurate, error-free data on schedule.
- Fabricate electronic cables, connector assemblies, and circuit boards to support testing operations.
- Conduct both routine and specialized laboratory tests in accordance with industry standards and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform data transfers using strong computer skills.
- Operate company vehicles and golf carts as needed to support laboratory logistics.
Required Skills and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with electrical schematics, circuit fabrication, and Ohm's Law calculations.
- Proficient in calibrating and operating digital data acquisition systems and electronic test equipment.
- Strong math, writing, and communication skills for technical documentation and teamwork.
- Ability to obtain ATF Explosives Possessors License and DOD Secret Security Clearance.
- Valid driver's license for operating company vehicles.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced proficiency with digital data acquisition systems.
- J standard solder certification.
- Expertise in fabricating specialized electronic cables and connector assemblies.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities for instrumentation and electrical systems.
