SOSi is looking for a forward-leaning Deputy Operations Manager to drive impactful, high-visibility IT solutions at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu, Hawaii. Essential Job Duties:
The Deputy Operations Manager serves as the Operations Person-In-Charge in the absence of the Operations Chief and acts as the primary Technical Coordinator for the team. This role is responsible for assisting with planning, oversight, and execution of operations and engineering activities within the Area-of-Responsibility (AOR), supporting over 5,000 customers throughout the Pacific theater. The Deputy Operations Manager leads technical teams to ensure IT capabilities are available, monitored, maintained, and secured in accordance with Department of War (DoW) regulations. (Capabilities include both systems/network devices and their related applications, operating systems and/or protocols.)

- Serve as the Operations Deputy and act as Operations Person-In-Charge when required.
- Assist with planning and oversight of Operations activities within the AOR.
- Support the Operations Branch Chief in communications with adjacent branches to achieve service delivery and capability goals.
- Lead and direct engineers, administrators, analysts, and technicians to ensure IT systems, network devices, applications, and protocols are operational and secure.
- Coordinate, identify, and prioritize operations projects/assignments.
- Organize internal and external resources for initiatives.
- Communicate and manage operations workflow and duties through meetings, briefings, and other methods.
- Validate operational status of capabilities and services; communicate status and changes to leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure incidents are captured, tracked, escalated, and resolved; manage incident communication and response.
- Participate in analysis and solution development, especially for implementation, operations, and maintenance.
- Evaluate new services, technologies, software, tools, and devices to improve monitoring and remediation capabilities.
- Assist with supervisory and administrative oversight of direct reports, including recruiting, onboarding, direction, guidance, and training.
- Evaluate and improve work processes; propose and implement approved recommendations.
- Collect and summarize accomplishments, issues, and concerns.
- Validate Operations RFIs and resource impacts; oversee change and configuration management.
- Provide structure, oversight, and direction for special projects.
- Oversee compliance with custody and ownership of government equipment and components.
Qualifications
- An Active in-scope SECRET clearance.
- 10+ years of experience in systems/network administration and enterprise IT service center operations.
- DoD 8570 IAT-I compliant (A+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, or SSCP)
- Comprehensive knowledge of modern IT solutions and capabilities.
- Able to support 24/7 operations (including support to exercises), when necessary.
- Able to follow instructions and work both independently and in a (distributed) team environment.
- Prior supervisory experience, attention to detail, and able to communicate effectively, verbally & in writing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- DoD 8570 IAT-II compliant (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP)
- Relevant IT Certification (e.g., Cisco, Citrix, Dell, HP, ITIL, Microsoft, Nutanix, Palo Alto, VMware)
- Well-versed in Department of War (DoW) protocols, procedures and regulations.
- Previous experience (installations, troubleshooting, support) with virtual infrastructure solutions (e.g., VMware/Citrix VDI.)
- Prior experience with JIRA, SolarWinds, Forcepoint, Juniper and/or Palo Alto technologies a plus.
- Awareness of C2 applications.
- Awareness or experience with ITIL framework and ITIL best practices.

- Target Salary Range: $139,242 to $184,354.
