The MITRE Physical Security and Safety Department protects MITRE personnel, facilities, classified operations, enterprise assets, and sponsor mission activities through the management and execution of enterprise physical security and safety programs. The department delivers consistent, professional security services aligned with federal requirements, internal policies, and operational risk management objectives across multiple facilities and mission areas.
Core responsibilities include access control, visitor management, guard force oversight, physical security systems coordination, incident response, emergency preparedness, workplace safety support, and operational security for classified and sensitive environments. The department partners closely with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen security posture, improve service delivery, and support safe, efficient business operations through professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Position Overview:
The Global Visits and Access (GVA) Group serves as MITRE's enterprise visitor management and access coordination function. The team is responsible for validating visitor access eligibility, processing incoming and outgoing visit requests, supporting classified and unclassified meetings, coordinating foreign national visitor activities, and processing security-related access requests.
This position operates in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment requiring exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple high-volume workflows simultaneously. The successful candidate will support enterprise visitor management operations while ensuring compliance with MITRE policies, government security requirements, and sponsor access requirements.
This role requires strong administrative capabilities, customer service skills, and the ability to learn complex security processes involving visitor access, classified meeting support, contingent worker processing, and security clearance validation.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Process incoming and outgoing visitor access requests using enterprise security systems and databases.
- Validate visitor eligibility, security clearances, access requirements, and supporting documentation for classified and unclassified activities.
- Support classified and unclassified meeting access operations, including visitor approvals, badging coordination, and roster management.
- Coordinate foreign national visitor processing activities, including collection of required documentation, compliance reviews, and approval workflows.
- Maintain accurate records within enterprise visitor management and security systems while ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service while coordinating with MITRE employees, government sponsors, contractors, security personnel, and other stakeholders to resolve visitor and access-related issues.
- Support other GVA activities and duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of related experience; Associate degree and 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Experience performing administrative, security-support, personnel-processing, visitor management, customer service, or compliance-related work in a high-volume operational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, customers, government personnel, and external stakeholders.
- Experience working with databases, workflow systems, or enterprise applications to process and track operational activities.
- Ability to learn and apply detailed procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and common business software tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Must have an active Top Secret U.S Government issued Security Clearance.
- Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
- This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting visitor management, industrial security, personnel security, access control, physical security, or security operations programs.
- Experience processing visitor requests, access authorizations, or similar security-related workflows.
- Experience supporting foreign national visitor processing, classified meeting coordination, or government access programs.
- Experience working with security and workflow systems such as SIMS, DISS, Workday, Scattered Castles, or related applications.
- Familiarity with security clearance verification processes and classified-access procedures.
- Experience working in a customer-facing role requiring coordination among multiple organizations and stakeholders.
- Prior experience supporting classified environments or government contractor operations.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI U.S Government issued Security Clearance. Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
