ClearanceJobs, on behalf of our client in Greenwood Village, CO is seeking a Supply Chain Business Development Manager to join their team.
This person will serve as a member of the Business Development and Proposals team, while reporting directly to the Sr Director of Supply Chain. This position requires executive presence and commercial experience to lead cross-functional teams and manage large supplier relationships. This position will be working closely with the BD team with responsibility to lead Payload supplier strategic sourcing and support BD in developing sourcing scenario options in support of new BD quoting scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Supply Chain (SC) and cross functional teams to develop and utilize product and supplier strategies while managing strategic supplier relationships with large payload suppliers.
Lead BD team to evaluate and select Payload suppliers to participate in quoting process.
Lead BD team in RFX process and evaluation of multiple Payload supplier scenarios creating financial cost models and recommendations supporting BD business cases for sourcing and quoting scenarios.
Lead strategic bids and sensitive communications of commercially strategic and classified information.
Collaborate with SC and Lead the sourcing portion of the Business Development Process for new business opportunities.
Qualifications Required for the Role
Active Top Secret SCI Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related technical field
7+ years of experience working with satellite payloads, space systems, RF/optical components, or aerospace hardware
7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, or supply chain leadership for technical or high-complexity products
7+ years of experience supporting or leading RFX processes, cost modeling, and supplier evaluations
7+ years of program or project management on high-value or technically complex programs
Strong technical understanding of satellite payload architectures, subsystem design, and supplier landscapes
Ability to read and interpret technical documents (ICDs, SOWs, specifications) and translate requirements into sourcing criteria
Experience leading cross-functional teams (Engineering, BD, Finance, Supply Chain, Program Management)
Demonstrated ability to develop business cases and present financial analyses to senior leadership
Strong analytical and modeling skills, with experience building cost models for sourcing scenarios
Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and driving performance improvements
Executive presence with the ability to communicate technical and commercial concepts clearly
Ability to evaluate supplier technical capability, capacity, and risk at a detailed level
Preferred for the Role
10+ years of experience in space, defense, or aerospace BD capture sourcing
Experience working with payload suppliers in RF, optical, or advanced satellite technologies
Familiarity with government contracting standards (FAR/DFARS)
Experience with manufacturing processes, lead-time analysis, and supply chain risk management for space components
Proven ability to influence and motivate teams in a matrixed environment
Strong ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers
