Job Title: Desktop Systems Technician
Location: Onsite at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL
Employment Type: 6 month contract to hire
Hours: Standard Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
Pay: up to $30/hr

Role Overview
This role supports the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) program, a major initiative focused on modernizing and transforming IT operations across the USCENTCOM enterprise. The program’s mission is to deliver a fully modernized, next generation IT lifecycle management environment that includes cloud services, automation, and globally scaled infrastructure. The goal is to ensure USCENTCOM maintains high readiness and resilient, mission critical IT capabilities.
In this position, the contractor will work alongside other desktop system administrators within the USCENTCOM J66 Services Branch during standard business hours. The environment is collaborative, hands on, and directly tied to supporting a globally impactful defense mission.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the functionality and efficiency of computers running on one or more operating systems
• Provide onsite, hands on O&M support for client computing devices including PCs, thin/zero clients, laptops, PEDs, and peripherals
• Deliver end user IT system and software maintenance for USCENTCOM COOP
• Coordinate and manage ADPE accountability for new, replacement, and upgraded equipment
• Track equipment lifecycle including CERP and LCR processes
• Process end of life, defective, or damaged equipment through DRMO
• Develop procedures for managing and testing desktop load set configurations
• Provide CPN and SCO support to Coalition partners as needed
• Support 24/7 or holiday operations based on mission tempo
Required Qualifications
• IAT II CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
• 1+ years of related IT experience
• Systems planning and IT system connectivity
• Ability to expand or modify existing systems to improve workflow
• Experience with Windows, Linux, and/or virtual environments
• Ability to establish and follow information systems standards and procedures
Education/Certifications
• IAT II certification required (Security+ or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
Experience
• 1+ years of related IT or desktop support experience
• Experience supporting enterprise or government environments preferred
Technical Skills (Preferred)
• Microsoft certifications
• ITIL 4 Foundation
• Experience with systems integration, APIs, and cross team collaboration
• Ability to document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
• Familiarity with lifecycle replacement and enterprise hardware management
